A Refined Numerical Result on the First Excitation Energy in the Two-Level Pairing Model(Nuclear Physics)

• The first excitation energy in the two-level pairing model is investigated in terms of the equilibrium state and small fluctuations around it. The basic aim is to extend the results presented in a previous paper by the present authors. In this investigation, the result obtained in the previous paper plays a central role: In the limits of weak and strong interaction strengths, the results are in good agreement with the exact one. The former and latter are calculated in the frameworks of the su(2) [○!×] su(1, 1)- and su(2) [○!×] su(2)-coherent states, respectively. On the basis of this conclusion, however, apart from algebraic generalized coherent states, the region of intermediate interaction strengths is described through interpolation, and it is shown that the agreement of the results with the exact one is quite good.
