An improved training sequence design algorithm based on generic algorithm for MSE-OFDM systems(WSANE2007)

Although the optimal training sequence suitable for the channel estimation in Multiple-Symbol Encapsulated OFDM (MSE-OFDM) systems was already derived theoretically, it has the drawback of high Peak-to-Average power ratio (PAPR). In this paper, the genetic algorithm is used to further improve the training sequence. A training sequence with constant PAPR and flatter spectrum is obtained. Simulation results show that the optimized training sequence has similar performance with the theoretically optimized one. The proposed algorithm is feasible for improving the performance of MSE-OFDM since it is flat in time and frequency domain.
