The light absorption rate in a photochemical reaction system with the dispersed solid particles was measured experimentally. In an annular photochemical reactor, the photoreduction of potassium ferrioxalate solution was performed to observe how the light absorption rate varied by adding solid particles, such as transparent glass beads, opaque silicic anhydride particles of reflecting light or granular black graphite particles of absorbing light. The experiments gave the following results: (1) Adding slightly the particles of light transparency or of light reflection increased the light absorption rate. (2) Adding moderately the particles reduced the light absorption rate. (3) The maximum light absorption rate was got at S = 5 -8 cm^, where S was the projective area of particles per reactor volume. (4) Adding the particles with the property of absorbing light brought the rapid reduction of light absorption rate in a range of S = 0 - 2 cm^.
