In this paper, high school teachers' methods of teaching reading are investigated. The realms include schema theory, cohesion, grammar, lexical items, a medium of instruction, translation, and other relevant strategies. In the dimension of schema, formal schema is utilized better than content schema. Cohesion is the realm in which teachers show their willingness in teaching. Intensive efforts are made in teaching vocabulary. However, the exploitation of top-down processes is inadequate. As a whole, it can be said that teachers tend to be more atomistic than holistic in teaching reading.
