Novel nucleoside analogues of structure 3-5 were synthesized starting from (±)-cis-2-amino-3-cyelopentenylmethanol (1). The chlorine derivative 3 inhibited both HIV-1 and HIV-2 replication in MT-4 cells with IC_<50> values of 10.67μM and of 13.79μM, respectively.
