• "Syasekisyu" is a piece of Japanese legendary literature written in the medieval period. I must say, Muju (無住), the author, presents marvelously extensive knowledge based on profound religious thought. Especially in this essay, I will introduce his views on "waka", Japanese traditional poem. They had been considered as Incantations which have a kind of magic power, believed in by ancient Sinto (神道) people in Japan. But Muju's views must be said 'Unique' because they are based on esoteric Buddhism of the Middle ages.
