A density functional theory (DFT) of freezing of soft-core systems is presented. The theory is based on the idea of the thermodynamic perturbation approach and may be viewed as a genaralized version of the modified weighted-density approximation (MWDA). The results of applications to the inverse-power systems and the classical one-component plasma (OCP) are in good agreement with the simulation data.density functional theoryfreezingsoft-core systems
