Magnetic Properties of Amorphous Co_<80>Nb_<10>Ti_<10>/SiO_2 Multi Layered Films

Amorphous Co_<80>Nb_<10>Ti_<10>/SiO_2 multi layered films were fabricated with a dual sputtering apparatus, and the dependences of dc coercivity He and ac permeability μ on the thicknesses of Co_<80>Nb_<10>Ti_<10> layer and SiO_2 layer were examined systematically. H_c of the single Co_<80>Nb_<10>Ti_<10> layer increased with its decreasing thickness, but this increase was suppressed by the multi layering with SiO_2 layer. This effect is remarkable when Co_<80>Nb_<10>Ti_<10> and Sio_2 layers are thin. The magnitude of μ and the frequency dependence of μ were also improved by the multi layering. The improvement of μ becomes remarkable with decreasing thickness of the metal and SiO_2 layers.
