This is a report on the experiment on the precision micro machining by using the practical electro-discharge machine. The object-workpieces were the zircaloy and stainless steel tubes which sheathe the atomic fuel. The processed tube was used to prove the non-destructive inspection of the atomic fuel sheath tube. The notch was below 50μ in width, 3 mm and 1 mm in length, and 30〜100μ in depth, and the measure of the depth precision was ±1μ. This machining is easily done, if consideration is given how the electric condition can be made to fit the electro-discharge machine for the micro machining, to use the high precision jig and then the influence of the temperature and vibration sufficiently. At present the processing precision is done below ±1μ.
