The critical potentials of the soft X-rays from copper, namely, 5.3 and 9.2 V, were previously assumed respectively to be the dissociation potentials of the molecules (A_2, B_2) in the state E_2 and (A_1, B_1) in the state E_1, where A_2 and B_2, and A_1 and B_1 are two pairs of copper atoms forming diatomic molecules. In the present investigation these assumptions were confirmed by using the experimental values of the activation energy in self-diffusion in the crystal lattice as well as that in sintering of the powder, and the sublimation energy at 0°K.
