The Akayama mine, situated at Honjo-mura, Minami-murayama-gun, Yamagata-ken, Japan has an epithermal impregnation and net-work deposit of copper and iron sulphide with Tertiary tuff and liparite as country rocks. The deposit has been remarkably subjected to secondary enrichment and oxidation, and various stages of the mineral change undergone can be clearly observed. Especially, some very interesting relations in the transmutation and mineral paragenesis occasioned in the course of the secondary enrichment has been revealed, which the authers has outlined in the following.
