At this Institute, a joint investigation of "Selective Sulphatization-Flotation Process" was carried out by way of a treatment of complex sulphide ores. The present paper is a part of the work concerning the degree of liberation of the ores. Eleven kinds of ores mentioned in Table 1 were crushed and sized particles were conglomerated with bakelite, polished and then observed under reflecting microscope to determine the degree of liberation. The results are shown in Tables 2 through 12 and Figs. 1 through 11. As a whole, the most difficult ores to ilberate were the so-called "Black ore" type, the most easy ones were the vein type and the ores of contact mentasomatic type stood midway. The relation between particle size and degree of liberation is shown in Figs. 13, 14 and may be illustrated as equation, L=b-aS, where L stands for degree of liberation, S for size of particle, a and b are constants. The constants a, b and the integrated value I_L of the measured ores are given in Table 13. The grade of the difficulty with which ore liberate monomineral grains may be shown by these constants.
