An image sequence analysis method that uses watershed segmentation and graph representation is presented. In the proposed approach, an image sequence is divided into watershed regions in each frame, and temporal relations of the regions are employed for analyzing the motions. Watershed region graph is the relations that are represented as directed graph, where nodes are the regions, and arrows are links of the regions. The links connect the regions between two adjacent frames and structural pattern of the graph represents region behavior that consists of transit, merge and split. The presented technique is applied to some image sequence for object tracking that is a typical task in image sequence analysis. Some results illustrate that the technique is capable of tracking multiple objects and the results are discussed with the region behavior.
