Orthodontic treatment of an Angle Class II Division 1 subdivision malocclusion with an edge-to-edge bite and upper incisors root shortening : A case report

The present case report describes orthodontic treatment for a patient of an Angle Class II Division 1 subdivision malocclusion with an edge-to-edge bite and the upper incisors root shortening. When the patient was the upper right second molar was extracted for distal movement of the first molar. After improving the molar relationships on the right side with a sectional archwire, the upper and lower premolars were extracted and the edgewise appliances were placed. Upper incisor's torque control was important to prevent EARR as much as possible. After active treatment, a good occlusion was obtained and noticeable EARR was not found.
