This paper deals with a new type of vibratory gyro-sensor using a flexural same-form double-mode disk resonator with additional inertia. This vibratory gyro-sensor can be supported at its center of gravity, and has a flat structure to meet, at a right angle, the axis of the angular velocity to be measured. The principle of the basic operation and the practical structure of the vibratory gyro-sensor are described in the first part of this paper. In the second part of the paper the experimental results of a prototype gyro-sensor are explained. Moreover, the modified vibratory gyro-sensor of the diaphragm type is also described in this paper. The results obtained proved that the disk-resonator proposed by us operated as a gyro-sensor and showed relatively good gyro-sensor characteristics.
