The SHG autocorrelation profile function has been derived by utilizing a simplified model. The theory is based on a concept that the mode-locking proceeds in an assimilation of random wavepackets into a single coherent pulse. A diagram useful for pulse width determination by the SHG autocorrelation profile has been obtained. The derived autocorrelation function has well explained the experimental results in the wide range of mode-locking conditions.
