Electronic Property of La_2CuO_4 with Two Different Layered Structures

Energy-band structure of La_2CuO_4 is calculated for two types of layered crystal structures (K_2NiF_4 and Nd_2CuO_4). It is demonstrated that the electronic structure near the Fermi energy is very sensitive to the position of oxygen atoms situated outside the Cu-O planar network, and that the tetragonally distorted Cu-O octahedron in the K_2NiF_4 type is a rather unique structure in realizing two-dimentional character of the Fermi surface.
