Parallel neighborhood operations are very useful for image processing. A system that optically implements the operations is presented. The system consists of an optical parallel logic gate, a simple multiple-imaging system and electronic feedback circuits. The experimental results of several binary image processings are presented by use of the system, and a new algorithm for extraction of corners is proposed.
