Intensity Measurements in Vacuum Ultraviolet Region by Aromatic Phosphors

Intensities of radiation in the region 900-1700 A were measured with aromatic phosphors, 1, 12-benzperylene (I), combined with 7696-type photomultiplier mounted at the exit slit of a Seya-type 0.5 metre vacuum monochromator. The (I)-film against irradiation was more stable than that of sodium salicylate (VI), even below 1300 A. The quantum yield of (I)-film was two times higher than that of (VI). The (II)-film was sensitive like to (VI), but was decomposed gradually under irradiation. Other three, III, IV, V, were inferior to sodium salicylate as photon detector.
