Photovoltaic Effects of Merocyanine-ZnO Cells

The photovoltaic effects of ITO/ZnO/merocyanine/Ag cells are reported. The ZnO layer was deposited by a dc sputtering technique on the light-transparent electrode. The dye film was fabricated by a vacuum vapor deposition onto the ZnO layer. The short-circuit photocurrent and fill factor of these cells were increased compared to those of Al/merocyanine/Ag cells. Furthermore, the stability of the device operation under the high light intensity (100 mW/cm^2) was considerably improved.
