Video Detection of Far Infrared Radiation by Nb Thin Film Microbridges under Vortex Flux Flow

Video detection of far infrared radiation in the spectral region of 10-35 cm^<-1> was carried out at 4.2 K using Nb thin film microbridges (1×1μm^2 in area and 1000Å thick) in which vortex flux flow existed. A structureless response spectrum with a broad peak at 13 cm^<-1>, very different from those observed previously in Nb-Nb point-contact junctions, was obtained. Some discussions are given on the responsivity of a microbridge operating under vortex flux flow.
