Effect of Charge Transfer Complex on Thermoluminescence in Polyethylene at Low Temperature Due to Electrical Field Application

The effect of a mixture of charge transfer complex (C.T.C.) on thermoluminescence in low density-polyethylene was investigated after the application of half-wave rectified voltages at 77K. The glow integral of thermoluminescence in C.T.C. added polyethylene was larger than that in non-added polyethylene in the whole range of the applied voltages. Thermoluminescence in low density-polyethylene washed with hexane and that in high density-polyethylene were also observed. The location of trapped electrons was discussed in connection with C.T.C.
