In order to know psychosomatic characteristics of frequently ill patients, a survey was made by means of C.M.I. as well as Y-G tests. The results were compared with those obtained in ordinary employees. Main points revealed by such procedures are as follows. I-a. As to the number of appeals as indicated in C.M.I., the frequently ill patients showed more of them than the ordinary employees, at the significant level of 95%. I-b. As to the number of somatic appeals, frequently ill patients showed more of them than the ordinary employees, at the significant level of 99%, while as to the psychic ones, any significant difference could not be found. I-c. Taken individually, in over half of the frequently ill patients, rate of psychic appeals was higher than those of somatic. I-d. If items of the appeal were picked up which more than half the subjects made, twelve items were found in the case of frequently ill patients, while six in the case of ordinary employees. II. By Y-G test, features of the frequently ill patients may be expressed by classifying them into three groups, i.e. that of depressive, non-objective, and introvert. A tendency of emotional instability were detectable.
