Levels of ascorbic acid (AA) and dehydroascorbic acid (DHA) were examined in epicotyl segments and intact epicotyls under various conditions. It appears that not only the redox state of an AA-DHA system but also the level of AA plus DHA in the apoplast might be affected by growih conditions.
