Increases in carbonic anhydrase activity and decreases in K_<1/2>(CO)_2 for photosynthesis in Chlorella vulgaris 11h, which are induced by adaptation of cells to low CO_2, were suppressed by the addition of glucose to the growth medium. The results show that phenomena induced by decreases in CO_2 are controlled by glucose or its metabolites.
