Thigmotropism in the growth of pollen tubes of Lilium longiflorum

The pollen tubes of Lilium longiflorum were clearly seen to grow regularly along minute network filaments. By analyzing the nature of this growth regularity, we found that the pollen tubes showed a kind of thigmotropism in their growth.
