A simple and readily avalable DNA cleaving agent, 2,2'-bis(aminomethyl)-4,4'-bithiazole at 50 μM concentration showed a significant cleaving activity for plasmid DNA only in the presence of Cu(II) under physiological conditions without any reducing agents.
