The crystal structure of 3,7,11,15-tetramethyl-2,4,6,10,14-all trans-hexadecapentaenoic acid (E-5166) was determined by the X-ray method. The compound crystallized in a space group P1,with unit cell dimensions a=11.674 (3), b=11.375 (3), c=7.367 (2) Å, α=106.57 (2)°, β=81.75 (2)°, γ=93.95 (2)°. The final R-value was 0.062 for 2270 reflections.
