Larvae of Parnara guttata guttata BREMER et GREY were reared under various temperature and photoperiodic conditions. Regardless of photoperiodic conditions, black type of pupa was induced by a low temperature, while well-known ivory type by a high temperature. The critical temperature was about 22.5℃, at which variously pigmented (intermediate type) pupae were obtained.
