Male meiotic chromosomes of F_1 hybrids between Luedorfia japonica females from Tachikawa (Yamagata Pref.) and Luehdorfia puziloi inexpecta males from Yatsumori (Miyagi Pref.) were studied, with particular concern to the distribution of the chromosome number. The occurrence of 30 haploid chromosomes was ascertained in 92.5% of the spermatocytes inspected. This reveals a similarity of the karyotypes of the parents and suggests that the base number for the parents is uniformly 30.
