This paper deals with a report on field survey of drosophilids in relation to the flora. The collection of flies were made during a period from August to September, 1959, in Taisei-Mura, Kudo-Gun, Hiyama, in a southwestern part of Hokkaido. A total of 972 specimens was obtained mainly by the use of nine traps baited with fermenting banana and by means of net sweeping on grasses. They were classified into 23 species belonging to two genera (Table 1 and 2). Among the flies obtained by net sweeping, there was a new species which will be reported as Drosophila mommai. In addition, the plants forming the vegetation in the four stations here considered were also studied: they were 72 species belonging to 65 genera. The plants of 26 species belonging to 22 genera were observed dominantly in the four stations (Table 3). The plants found in Taisei-Mura are generally of common species. Drosophila nipponica, D. auraria, D. nigromaculata and Scaptomyza sp. were collected by means of net sweeping on Persicaria (Polygonum) Thunbergii.
