Genus Nipponogarypus nov. Medium-sized form. Carapace with short cucullus and 4 eyes; the frontal margin cut and hollowed in the middle; the hind part of carapace with two clear transverse furrows. Carapacal integument almost glossy. Flagellum with 3 setae. Maxillary shoulders of palpal coxa not developed. Palps long and robust, venom apparatus presents on the both palpal fingers, marginal teeth of fingers closely set throughout; movable finger with 4 tactile setae, SB and B approached each other at the base of finger; fixed finger with 8 setae; EB, ESB and ISB grouped at the base of finger, EST situated on the intermediate part between ESB and ET; IST located farther of the middle finger towards the basal part. Patella of legs I obviously shorter than basifemur and the articulation between patella and basifemur freely mobile; basitarsus of legs III and IV respectively with a long tactile seta; arolia longer than claws. Genotype; Nipponogarypus enoshimaensis sp. nov. This new genus falls within the South American Progarypus Beier, 1931 according to the following characters-Movable finger of chela provided with 4 tactile setae, patella of legs I is clearly shorter than the basifemur and the articulation between thetwo femoral segments is freely mobile-but the palps is robust; EST situated just in the middle between ESB and ET, and is widely apart from the group of setae constructed with EB, ESB and ISB; IST located farther of the middle of finger towards the basal part; ST is not widely apart from SB. Palpal setae are somewhat long and not arcuated. Integument of the body and appendages are almost glossy. With these characters, the genus is separated from Progarypus Beier, 1931. Nipponogarypus enoshimaesis sp. nov. (Fig. 1) Medium-sized, glossy and blackish brown, the legs and the ventral side of the body darkish brown. Carapace oval and somewhat longer than broad, the frontal margin hollowed in the middle, and hind margin straightened; with 4 eyes, the anterior pairs distant about 1.3 ocular diameter from the frontal margin of carapace; clearly with two transverse furrows, the one lies in the middle part between posterior eyes and the hind margin of carapace, the other closed by the hind margin of carapace (Fig. 1A); carapacal integument almost glossy, only the hind transverse furrow shows reticurated sculpture. Abdomen oval and broader than carapace; pleural membrane wrinkled-rugose; tergites not divided, the first two small and reticurated; the second last tergite and the last two sternites with a pair of long tactile setae; setae of tergites: 2-4-4-4-4-4-4-5-6-4-4, sternites 6-11 with 6-6-6-5-4-6 setae; stigmatic helix not clear. Cheliceral palm with 5, flagellum with 3 setae; serrula with 17 lamella, galea with only a short stemlet at the tip. Palps robust, somewhat longer than the body length (Fig. 1B), finger longer than hand, the fixed finger with 50, the movable with 47 marginal teeth; palps grown sperse, fairly long and simple-pointed setae; in the middle point of femur situated a long seta. SB and B approached each other at the base of finger, ST in the middle between B and T, and not so widely apart from SB; EB, ESB and ISB grouped at the base of finger, EST just in the middle between ESB and ET; IST located somewhat towards the basal part from-the middle of finger and IT approached to the middle of finger (Fig. 1C.). Femur 3.1 times as long as broad, clearly pediculated; tibia 2.5 times as long as broad and as long as femur; chela 3.1 times as long as broad, finger longer than hand without pedicle. Coxa of legs IV short and not diverged. Patella of legs I clearly shorter than basifemur and the articulation between the two femoral segments freely mobil (Fig. 1D); basitarsus of legs III and IV respectively with a long tactile setae; arolia longer than the robust claws (Fig. 1E).
