Influence of Continuous Lighting Intensities on Porphyrin Content in Rat Harderian Gland(短報)

Both constant light and constant darkness for 100 days significantly decreased Harderian gland porphyrins compared with those of rats kept in diurnal lighting condition. In rats exposed to 1000 lux of continuous illumination, the gland porphyrins were significantly lowered in comparison with those in rats under 0 to 500 lux.
