• Sepiapterin is converted to its aromatized from by cytochrome c-catalyzed oxidation with hydrogen peroxide. The same product was also obtained by oxidation solely with bromine. Identity of the product with 6-lactylpterin was confirmed by mass and NMR spectra. Some other properties of 6-lactylpterin, including R_f values and UV_<spectra>, are also presented.
