CMOS High performance and wide range tunable two-stage oscillators applicable to the places requiring in- and quadrature-phase components such as RF and data retiming applications are presented. The presented two-stage oscillator operation is based on the phase-look-ahead technique and can be tuned by bias current. The proposed oscillator is fabricated using 0.8um CMOS technology and shows wide tunable range of 1.33 to 1.93 GHz without varactor diode at 3-V supply. Its phase noise is less than-100-dBc/Hz at 600-kHz offset.
