The Silicon Audio has been developed to take full advantage of the state-of-the-art audio coding algorithm and increased capacity of semiconductor memories. For portable use, lower power consumption and compactness, which could be realized by a dedicated LSI chip, are generally the biggest concern of users. This paper presents a new Silicon Audio player based on an MPEG/Audio decoder LSI.
