A wideband contiguous-band diplexer using interpolated coupling coefficient bandpass filters is described. The filter has linearly interpolated coupling coefficients between those of a singly- and doubly-terminated filters. By using this filter, frequency characteristics of large coupling slots are compensated, and a good VSWR is obtained through wide filter pass bands. An experimental Ka-band diplexer has 4% filter pass bands separated by 0.8% guard band, insertion loss 0.5 dB in the pass bands, VSWR 1.2, and isolation 20 dB are obtained.
