概要

A Zygosaccharomyces rouxii mutant which required a high osmotic pressure for cell growth at a temperature higher than 30℃ contained higher amounts of free sterol and linoleic acid but a lower amount of oleic acid than the wild type strain. The low ratio of oleic acid to linoleic acid and high sterol content cosegregated with the osmophilic trait in meiotic segregants.
