This paper is a study on the development of a tactile sensor system for reading Braille points. The developed sensor is a tactile sensor using a PVDF film as the sensory receptor. The sensor is slid over the Braille points and the signal processing for distinguishing the characters regardless of the rubbing speed is proposed. The obtained results show that the sensor with the proposed signal processing can recognize the characters appropriately.
