A high speed ruruning vehicle relatively redeives an air flow. In this study, it was tried to apply this wind on the running vehicle as the source of a control force for a vibrating system in the vehicle. An optimal control system equipped with a wind was designed by applying the optimal control theory to a single-degree-of-freedom system subjected to the disturbance of a random process with a dominant frequency on the assumption of a stationary lift. As the result of the analysis considering the nonstationary lift, it was demonstrated that the control technique used in this study is sufficiently effective, if the velocity of wind is more than a certain value. Furthermore, by carrying out an experiment in a wind tunnel for the manufactured control devices, the availability of the proposed control was verified for a periodic disturbance, and it was also shown by a computer simulation for a random one.
