For realizing the high heat flux cooling to control the temperature in high coherency laser diodes, the innovative idea utilizing the work function difference for thermo-electric devices has been experimentally demonstrated. Consequently, by using the combination of Cu (+electrode)-n-type semiconductor-Pt-p-type semiconductor-Cu (-electrode), the part around n-type semiconductor was totally cooled and would be useful for cooling devices.
