Linear response of weakly coupled $' chains is investigated. The transferintegral method can be applied when the effect of the interchain coupling is takeninto account using the mean field approximation. The Fokker-Planck equationis solved with a simple decoupling approximation for the phase space distributionfunction. We find a central peak structure in the dynamical structure factor. Theintensity of the centraJ peak diverges at the ferroelectric transition, This corre-sponds to the "softening" of the response of the domain wall. These phenomenamay be observed in quasi-one-dimensional system such as CSD.P04.
