Acoustic de Hass-van Alphen Effect in Organic Superconductor α-(BEDT-TTF)_2NH_4Hg(SCN)_4

Longittrdinal sotnnd velocity tneasurements propagating along the interlayer direction have beenperformed at 53.4 NIHz by a phase cotnparison taaethod on a quasi-two-dizaaensional (Q2D) organic strpercondtmctor Q-(BBDT-TTF)2NH4HB(SCN)?1 with T. : l K. Ternperature dependenceof the sotrnd xzelocity slaoxvs anotnalies arotrnd 20 K and 60 K. The acotrstic de Haas-van Alphen(dHvA) efl'ects are observed beloxv L.S K for the first tiraae in these organic ttaetals. Tlae qtuanturn oscillations originate frotaa the a-Fernaai strrface (FS) of' a xveakly w'arped cylindrical shape.According to the theoretical fortmulations Icy Kataoka and Goto for an acoustic dHvA effect, theabsoltrte area coefficient At, is estiuauated to be about 3.5. The raatrltiband terrn A"7 is concludedto dotaainantly contribtrte to AL
