Gamma-Gamma Angular Correlations in Sb^<125>

The nuclear levels of Te^<125> have been studied by a number of investigators^<1)-5)> from Sb^<125> β-decay, and the decay scheme has also been proposed. Recently Chandra and Pandharipande^<5)> have reexamined the decay scheme of Sb^<125> by measuring γ-γ coincidences and the spin of the 321 keV level by the directional correlation of (320γ)-(175keVγ) cascade. Their results were consistent with the results obtained by Lazer^<4)> except for the existence of the 401 keV new level. However, no measurements have been reported on the spin and parity of the higher energy states of the Te^<125>. The purpose of this work is to confirm the level structure of Te^<125> by γ-γ coincidences and to obtain the spin of the higher energy states by γ-γ directional correation measurements. Experimental pmcedures were almost similar to those in the previous experiment on Ce^<144>.^<6)>,,In the present experiment Sb^<125> was obtained from Oak Ridge National Laboratory. in the form SbCl_3 in HCl solution.
