Variation of the lattice-zaaodtrlation period p. of the "incora?tnensurate" phaseBi3Br3(Caj .PI.)CU1208.H,5 (O $ x : 0.72) xvith Pr-cotacentration x was exataained by electron diffraction. The plot of p. verstrs x exhibits roughly a linear decrease btut it has a staircasestrtrcttrre. The period of' each stair, p., argrees xvith a valtre expected for a couaauauensturate strtrc-ttmre. XVe obserx'ed nine stairs whicla are sytaaraaetrically arranged; the centr?t1 stair correspondsto the prizaaary strtrcttrre xvith a sirraple taaodtzlation, and a stair on tlae left (or right) con-re-sponds to a strtrcttrre which is derixxed I'rotaa the prirtaary strttcttrre by introdttcing an advanced(or delayed) disconaautaenstrration. The olcserved strtmcttnres cover a ftrll range of' comnaenstrratestrtrcttrres predicted theoretically.
