Two-dimension..tl slow viscotzs flow throtugh a slit in a vertical plate on a plane wall is inves-tigated based on the Stokes approxinaation. The width and the distance of the slit frouaa theplane wall are taken arbitrary. The plane wall is at rest and the floxv is generated by a presstrredifference betxveen two sides of the plate at infinity. A fornual expression for the flow is obtainedby solving a three-part Wiener-Hopf eqtration, By evaltrating the fornaal expression, streatnlinepatterns for typical cases are drawn. Floxvrate throtrgh the slit and velocity profile ota the slit aredeternained. The presstrre distribtrtions on the botrndaries are slaown ?rnd the f'orce and taaoxaaentexerted on the inner plate are also calculated.
