The solvent-mediated force between colloidal particles in a liqtrid is studied with the use of thenaodel system consisting of the solvent spheres and the solute spheres (colloidal particles): spheresinteract through Yukawa-type potentials with different datnping factors. The study is based onthe naean spherical approximation soltution of the Ornstein-Zernike equation with the clostmre ofthree Yukawa terms. In the case of the lyophobic solute in the dilute liraait, the dependence ofthe solvent-naediated force on the interaction between solvent spheres is investigated in relationto the exponential decay nature of the force n'xeasured in the range shorter thttn about l 5 nm.The result is consistent with the experiznental one.
