Magnetization in Heavy-Fermion Compounds

We calculate the magnetization as a ftrnction of tnagnetic field in the mean-field approximationfor the periodic Coqblin-SchriefTer model. Prior to a metamagnetic second-order transition fromheavy-fermion to local-moment state, a rapid increase in the magnetization, which resembles themetamagnetic-like behavior in CeRtrxSiz, appears if tlae anisotropy of the hybridization matrixelement is taken into account.
