Velocity space loss regions are analytically estimated in the helical solenoidwith low toroidicity by means of the invariants y' and J77. The drift surfaceintegral 17/' describes the trajectories of passing and blocked particles, while thelongitudinal adiabatic invariant J,7 expresses the motion of banana center. Theloss regions are basically composed of both the tokamak type's contribution inthe case of the helically symmetric system and the steI[arator type's contribu-tion caused by the radial drift of the banana center of localized particles due tothe toroidal effect, and appear for both v77>0 and v77<O in the low particleenergy region due to the effect of the latter. Analytical results are checked by theintensive numerical orbit calculation. Both are in good agreement each otherexcept in the v77:0 region.
