Toroidal Effect on Magnetic Line of Force in Non-Planar Helical Magnetic Axis System (Asperator NP-3)

The behavior of magnetic line of force in a stellarator-type toroidatl devicewith three dimensional helical magnetic axis (Asperator NP-3) is investigated bothnumerically and analytically, especially taking into account of the toroidalperturbation. To avoid or decrease the influence of the crucial 2/3 reson;tnce, theabsolute value of ellipticity of magnetic surface 6 should be over 1/3, c?r both eand triangularity Q should be near zearo simultaneously. The swing (5 emj>toyed inthe helical windings is revealed to be very effective to the structure of ?nagneticsurface.
